The best week of my mission!!!!!!!

Hello everyone!  I was super super nervous for this week, but it turned out being one of my favorite weeks in the mission so far!!  So my old companion Elder Lorenzo was made zone leader here in Neuva Rosita, it was sad to see him go but ill still talk to I'm all the time because he is my zone leader!!  My new comp is elder Diaz and he is from Argentina!!  He has four months in the mission, so we are both super new, but we are killing it!  This has forced me to learn my area really fast, and I realized I know my area a lot better than I thought.

This week I have realized, that my English is starting to go downhill haha!  Sometimes I forget how to say something. Or I don't know how to use the correct grammar!  Kinda crazy haha.  Now I don't know English or Spanish! sometimes ill be talking to another American missionary and I will start talking in Spanish without realizing it!

This week we have 2 baptisms!! These are gonna be my first two baptisms and I'm so happy but also nervous. It takes about 5 minutes to say Hispanic names so please pray for me haha.  Their names are Rufina and Jose and they are amazing.  Jose has a problem with his leg, and the whole left side of his body, he can barely move.  It is really hard for them to come to church, so this week we focused on teaching them about the importance of attending church.  We showed Jose the video about John Rowe, he was a pioneer.  When he got to America he broke his leg, and the doctors, couldn't save it, so he had to get it cut off.  He carved himself a prosthetic leg, and then went on to carve the holiness to the lord on the salt lake temple.  We showed him the video of John tanner, another man who had problems with his leg.  He related to these so perfectly, and we shared scriptures about finding stregth through Christ.  On Sunday we fasted for them to come to church, because if they didn't, we would have to move back their baptism date.  On Sunday, when I saw Jose limping up to the church with his crutch, and  Rufina by his side, helping him, I wanted to cry.  It was one of the happiest things.  The meeting was so amazing, and after, all the members were so welcoming and they made so many friends.  Jose started to cry because he felt so happy.  This Sunday I'm gonna have the opportunity to baptize them!

This week I have had to kind of take charge and be a leader! my comp doesn't know our area, so I have been in charge of appts and finding out where we need to go!  that's been hard cause I don't know our area really well, but it has helped me grow so much.

Last night towards the end of the night, we were kind of having a hard time, not a ton of success with finding people.  I said a quick prayer for the spirit to guide us, and we had also fasted, and the next thing we knew it we found two new investigators who have so much potential!!  I'm still learning Spanish, and i don't talk a whole lot in lessons, or contacts, so i have been figuring out how i can help, and that has been by finding.  I have gotten so much better at being able to follow spiritual promptings.  I have been deciding which houses to knock on, and my comp does most of the teaching.  It has been working out really well and I have a testimony that the holy ghost truly does guide.  Last night before we went home, i felt like we needed to knock on this house, and we were greeted by a warm smile and a big firm handshake, ( doesn't happen often) We taught him about the book of Mormon and the restoration, and he kept saying how good all this was and that he wanted to learn more!  The Holy Ghost is such an amazing gift.  When we follow spiritual promptings with faith, it gets easier and easier to recognize when the spirit is talking to us.  Love you all so much, have a good week.  Love to hear from you.  conner.atkin@myldsmail.net
