UNA SEMANA MAS TERMINADA
(Another week down)
Hola everyone!! Everything is going well here in Sabinas! We are
working super hard and having success each day! We got two more baptism
dates! Their names are Jose and Rufina! I have a strong testimony
that the lord truely does prepare people for us to teach.
Things are also going really well with Gerardo, he is the one I'm
teaching in English. He can speak English because he used to be a drug
dealer, (narco) and he drove back and forth from Mexico and the united
states transporting drugs. He truly has repented and he has such a
strong testimony. When I first started teaching him he reminded me of
Joseph Smith. He said, all these churches claim they have the truth but
they all teach different things. I explained that Joseph Smith had the
exact same question, and I taught him about the restoration and Book of
Mormon in English! He is the only person I have met here that speaks English, and I don't think it's a coincidence that he stopped me on the
street. If all goes well I am going to ask him to baptized on our next
lesson!
Latinos are honestly some of the
best people. My face hurts from smiling so much. I have also
discovered a new kind of pain while being here. We eat super spicy
stuff in pretty much every meal, I love spicy stuff but the after math
is not so good. I wake up in the middle of the night and my stomach
and chest just burn haha. It's like bad heart burn but way worse. I
always tell myself im gonna stop then the next second there I am eating a
chilli pepper lol.
We had zone conference
and it was awesome. All us greenies bore our testimonies, and everyone
leaving, and the spirit was so strong. Then President Cahoon proceeded
to roast us about not being perfect, then it was awesome after that.
The second day of zone conference we played volleyball and pres did
interviews. I just gotta say that volleyball with Latinos is something
else haha. I can't really explain it lol.
We are having a ton of success here and its awesome, but today I was
reading in Mosiah 2, when king Benjamin is talking to his people, and he
says all the success that he has had was because of the lord, and we
need not boast in ourselves, but our God. Compared to God we are as the
dust of the earth. I know that if the lord wasn't by my side I would
be nothing, I rely on him for EVERYTHING. I truly love you all, and I
would love to hear from you guys. Have a good week!!
