Walking By Faith

Hey guys I only have a couple minutes to write so I'm gonna keep it short and just share one experience!

A couple days ago, we had a great day planned out with lots of appts and people to visit.  We didn't have any appts before lunch, so we just contacted.  After lunch, we went to our first appt and they werent there.  We we were kinda sad but it was still fine.  We contacted some more until our next appt, and they weren't there.  We were getting a little discouraged, we started knocking some doors again, and we got a call from one of our investigators, to change the appt to a different day.  We were just standing there in the street thinking of what to do, a little discouraged, and I just started walking. I had no idea where I was going, all i knew is that i was going somewhere, and I knew if i had faith the lord would lead me to where i needed to go.  I had a feeling we needed to go to the very top of the street we had been contacting in, the very last street, we had never contacted there before.  I was looking around for someone to talk to, when i saw two little girls sitting outside their porch.  We started talking to them, and they said they would go get their grandma.  We sang her a hymn, and taught her a little about the plan of salvation.  She wasn't super interested, but before we left she said her son was sick, we asked if we could say a prayer for him, so she invited us into her little home.  He can only move his head and his arms.  He is temporarily paralyzed.  He was about 30 or so and he seemed like an awesome guy.  I felt so bad for him.  He still seemed happy and i could see hope in his eyes.  We asked if we could say a prayer for him, and we found out that he speaks English.  he grew up in the united states, and he speaks better English than Spanish.  I offered the prayer in English, and the spirit was so strong.  I know if the lord was here he would have gone to help the same man we were helping. He truly led us there.

I want to challenge you this week to look at others, with an eternal perspective.  Everyone on this earth is a brother or sister to us, and they want to return to Gods presence weather they know it or not.  Before we came to this earth, we were hoping and praying we would follow Gods plan.  When we try to look at others the way God sees them, we see the world differently.  We are filled with a new love for all people.  Its a cool feeling to care about someone you have never talked to in your life.  I love you all and I would love to hear from you guys.  Even though I'm in Mexico I am here for you.  Have a great week.  conner.atkin@myldsmail.net

The best week of my mission!!!!!!! Hello everyone!  I was super super nervous for this week, but it turned out being one of my favorite weeks in the mission so far!!  So my old companion Elder Lorenzo was made zone leader here in Neuva Rosita, it was sad to see him go but ill still talk to I'm all the time because he is my zone leader!!  My new comp is elder Diaz and he is from Argentina!!  He has four months in the mission, so we are both super new, but we are killing it!  This has forced me to learn my area really fast, and I realized I know my area a lot better than I thought.    This week I have realized, that my English is starting to go downhill haha!  Sometimes I forget how to say something. Or I don't know how to use the correct grammar!  Kinda crazy haha.  Now I don't know English or Spanish! sometimes ill be talking to another American missionary and I will start talking in Spanish without realizing it!...

UNA SEMANA MAS TERMINADA (Another week down) Hola everyone!! Everything is going well here in Sabinas!  We are working super hard and having success each day!  We got two more baptism dates!  Their names are Jose and Rufina!  I have a strong testimony that the lord truely does prepare people for us to teach. Things are also going really well with Gerardo, he is the one I'm teaching in English.  He can speak English because he used to be a drug dealer, (narco) and he drove back and forth from Mexico and the united states transporting drugs.  He truly has repented and he has such a strong testimony.  When I first started teaching him he reminded me of Joseph Smith.  He said, all these churches claim they have the truth but they all teach different things.  I explained that Joseph Smith had the exact same question, and I taught him about the restoration and Book of Mormon in English!  He is the only person I have met he...
