Praying for opportunities to serve!

Praying for opportunities to serve!

Another week down!  I can't believe how fast this week has gone by.  This has been the fastest week by far.  We do the same thing every day here in the ccm, but ill talk about some of the things that have stood out this week.  They finally made me get a haircut this week, I went sooo long without cutting it haha.  I had the longest hair in the ccm by far.  My hair looks so bad now, it looks like a 5-year-old cut it.  The lady who cut it even said it wasn't her best haircut.  Oh well haha.  Doesn't even matter.

First off, just cause you're in the walls of the ccm doesn't mean you can still preach the gospel baby!!  We have been talking with Tony and Jose a lot lately (the construction workers we gave the book of Mormons to) Tony is already in Mosiah, and Jose( the man the hermanas taught) reads the book of Mormon with his family every day.  It's kind of hard to talk to them cause their Spanish is so fast, but we can hold our own haha.  We taught them the first vision on the street the other day and my comp recited the first vision, after that I asked them if they wanted to learn more, and they did.  I got their phone numbers and asked if they wanted missionaries outside the ccm to come to their houses, they said yes!  We are going to refer them to some missionaries that actually have time to teach them at their houses.  We see them every day and they are always so happy to see us.  It brightens my day every time I see them!

My Spanish is getting better every day!  We took a test the other day, and it went pretty good.  It would ask us a question like Juan wants to know about eternal families, teach him the plan of salvation in three minutes.  It was kind of hard to do it in Spanish but it's getting easier every day.  We can teach our lessons without notes now, the gift of tongues is so real, and the holy ghost truly does guide us in all of our lessons.  We had trc this week, we teach people from outside the mtc, they are already members, but it is great to teach people who aren't acting, and who have real problems.

We had the opportunity to go to the temple last week!  The Mexico City temple is gorgeous.  It was also cool to go through the temple in Spanish.  They gave us headsets, so us gringos could actually understand what was going on.  I love the temple so much, makes me miss having like 8 temples within 20 minutes of my house.

I have had some really amazing experiences with prayer this past week.  Last week in one of our devotionals, we had an invitation to pray for opportunities to serve.  Every morning I have been praying for the opportunity to serve someone, and my prayers have been answered every day.  The first time I asked, that night, someone in my district asked if I would give them a priesthood blessing.  He was really having a hard time.  He didn't tell me much of why, so I didn't really know what I was going to say in the blessing.  As soon as I laid my hands on his head, i knew exactly what i needed to say.  The words flowed out of my mouth, and it was like it wasn't even me speaking, and the spirit was so strong.  After I was done with the blessing, someone showed me a note card he had, of all the things he was struggling with, and blessings he wanted from the blessing.  Each of the things he had written down, I said in my blessing, and he never told me any of those things.  I can testify that the holy ghost truly does work through us, and the Lord will tell us exactly what we need to say, in the exact moment we need to say it.  I have had soooo many opportunities for service this week, and it makes me so happy to help others.  I encourage you all, to pray for opportunities to serve others, then keep your eyes opened for opportunities throughout the day.  Jesus Christ lived a life of service, and if we want to be more like him, we need to try our best to selflessly serve others.  I can promise you that it will bring you so much joy.  I'm sure i missed half the stuff that happened this week, esta bien.  I love you all! have a good week!!

The best week of my mission!!!!!!! Hello everyone!  I was super super nervous for this week, but it turned out being one of my favorite weeks in the mission so far!!  So my old companion Elder Lorenzo was made zone leader here in Neuva Rosita, it was sad to see him go but ill still talk to I'm all the time because he is my zone leader!!  My new comp is elder Diaz and he is from Argentina!!  He has four months in the mission, so we are both super new, but we are killing it!  This has forced me to learn my area really fast, and I realized I know my area a lot better than I thought.    This week I have realized, that my English is starting to go downhill haha!  Sometimes I forget how to say something. Or I don't know how to use the correct grammar!  Kinda crazy haha.  Now I don't know English or Spanish! sometimes ill be talking to another American missionary and I will start talking in Spanish without realizing it!...

UNA SEMANA MAS TERMINADA (Another week down) Hola everyone!! Everything is going well here in Sabinas!  We are working super hard and having success each day!  We got two more baptism dates!  Their names are Jose and Rufina!  I have a strong testimony that the lord truely does prepare people for us to teach. Things are also going really well with Gerardo, he is the one I'm teaching in English.  He can speak English because he used to be a drug dealer, (narco) and he drove back and forth from Mexico and the united states transporting drugs.  He truly has repented and he has such a strong testimony.  When I first started teaching him he reminded me of Joseph Smith.  He said, all these churches claim they have the truth but they all teach different things.  I explained that Joseph Smith had the exact same question, and I taught him about the restoration and Book of Mormon in English!  He is the only person I have met he...
