  First Baptism.  And it SNOWED!

So this week was probably my favorite week in the mission so far!  Tons of sick things happened.  So yeah it snowed and that was crazy!  It actually felt like Christmas for one day haha.  I also had my first baptism on Thursday!!  Her name is Rufina and she is amazing.  We are also baptizing her husband this sat!  I was practicing her name all day on Thursday cause Latino names are super long.  As soon as I step into the font I forget her name haha.  I dont know how that was possible cause I practiced it at least 200 times.  I was just standing there with my arm in the square, and it just came to me.  little tiny miracle right there haha.  When she came up out of the water, she said she felt amazing.  It is soooooo amazing to be able to be an instrument in the lords hands to bring salvation to other souls.  It is one of the happiest feelings, if not the happiest.

On tuesday I got to work with elder Lorenzo and elder Diaz! my mom and dad!  In the mission your first trainer is your papa, and your second is your mama haha.  Elder Lorenzo is the zone leader so he came on splits with us.  Huge mistake cause they both snore soooo loud and I had to sleep in between them.  I think i slept for two hours tops.  Oh and elder Lorenzo stole my blanket. It was super good though, it was good to work with elder Lorenzo again.

On Friday we went to piedras negras for a Christmas activity with two other zones!  Its about 2 and a half hours north of my area.  Tons of missionaries were there and it was a party.  Our mission president made us some suppperrrr good food for when we got there.  Pretty much a Christmas dinner.  After we went and had a Christmas activity in their plaza, and its huge.  We had a light the world activity, and we watched the light the world videos and sang Christmas hymns.  We went and talked to everyone that we saw and we actually got a ton of people to come, tons of new future poeple for piedras negras.  After we slept in elder Williams and elder Reyes house, then went home the next day.  Short little trip but it was super sick.

That's pretty much all Ive got for this week!  I love you guys and I hope you all have a great week!

Drop me a line if you get the chance.  Love to hear from you.  conner.atkin@myldsmail.net

The best week of my mission!!!!!!! Hello everyone!  I was super super nervous for this week, but it turned out being one of my favorite weeks in the mission so far!!  So my old companion Elder Lorenzo was made zone leader here in Neuva Rosita, it was sad to see him go but ill still talk to I'm all the time because he is my zone leader!!  My new comp is elder Diaz and he is from Argentina!!  He has four months in the mission, so we are both super new, but we are killing it!  This has forced me to learn my area really fast, and I realized I know my area a lot better than I thought.    This week I have realized, that my English is starting to go downhill haha!  Sometimes I forget how to say something. Or I don't know how to use the correct grammar!  Kinda crazy haha.  Now I don't know English or Spanish! sometimes ill be talking to another American missionary and I will start talking in Spanish without realizing it!...
Super Awesome Week! June 25th, 2018 Tons of stuff has happened the past couple weeks so ill just tell you guys all the good stuff!!  I got a new companion!  His name is Elder Shaner and its my first time having an american companion haah!  Hes from Idaho and hes an awesome missionary!  He goes home in august so looks like ill be sending him home haha.     We have been working super hard and we have found so many new investigators!   One of them is the wife and daughter of an inactive member we found!  They dad served a mission but he has been inactive for ten years.  We are baptizing his wife and daughter next week!  They are also really excited to go through the temple together.  A member had a feeling to talk to them after we had gotten done doing an interchange, and the rest is history!            We also found a family this week!  A HUGE family.  In the morning w...
UNA SEMANA MAS TERMINADA (Another week down) Hola everyone!! Everything is going well here in Sabinas!  We are working super hard and having success each day!  We got two more baptism dates!  Their names are Jose and Rufina!  I have a strong testimony that the lord truely does prepare people for us to teach. Things are also going really well with Gerardo, he is the one I'm teaching in English.  He can speak English because he used to be a drug dealer, (narco) and he drove back and forth from Mexico and the united states transporting drugs.  He truly has repented and he has such a strong testimony.  When I first started teaching him he reminded me of Joseph Smith.  He said, all these churches claim they have the truth but they all teach different things.  I explained that Joseph Smith had the exact same question, and I taught him about the restoration and Book of Mormon in English!  He is the only person I have met he...
